Each plate painted with an exotic bird on a gold garland with French inscription of each bird's name. Gold and black foliage tooled rims. Apokryph Sèvres marks on bottom. 1 minute chip.
Old South German private collection.
The Sèvres service Oiseaux de L'Amérique du Sud was created around 1819/20, the bird paintings are by the talented porcelain painter Madame Knip, née Pauline de Courcelles (1781-1851). The service, including 60 plates and other items, was delivered to Her Royal Highness Duchesse d'Angoulème later Dauphine de France in 1826.
